As the country’s sole manufacturer of household appliances, we develop and produce our products in the Swiss town of Zug with a firm sense of conviction. And that will remain unchanged in the future. Together with Metall Zug AG and the municipality of Zug, we are committed to safeguarding the long-term future of this Swiss industrial and manufacturing location with our visionary “Zug Technology Cluster” project. As a Swiss company, domestic production is of central importance to us in order to meet demanding quality requirements. Quality is far more than simply upmarket materials and precision Swiss craftsmanship. It also incorporates functionality, design, sustainability, digital enhancement and impeccable service throughout the entire appliance lifespan.
Strong roots enable healthy growth
From family business to high-tech company: “Verzinkerei Zug AG” was established in 1913, with 39 employees who zinc-coated metal products such as buckets, sinks and watering cans. The range grew consistently over the next few decades and in 1976, Verzinkerei Zug merged with Metallwarenfabrik Zug, which was the market leader for cookers and ovens at the time. This merger gave rise to V-ZUG AG, which quickly made a name for itself on the market with its complete range of high-quality appliances for the kitchen and laundry. From our beginnings as a family business, we evolved into an international company with around 1700 employees – always remaining true to our roots. Today, we are the Swiss market leader with a presence in 18 countries around the world thanks to our select premium range. There are currently more than 4.5 million V-ZUG appliances in use in Switzerland alone. And even top chefs such as Andreas Caminada, Tanja Grandits, Franck Giovannini and Walter Klose rely on the unique results of the combi-steamer for their award-winning cuisine.

Commitment to Swiss production: both now and in the future
Globally, V-ZUG is the only company in the industry that develops and produces the majority of its range in Switzerland. And that will remain unchanged in the future: together with Metall Zug AG and the municipality of Zug, we are committed to the visionary “Zug Technology Cluster” project. The aim of this project is to safeguard the long-term future of Zug as an industrial location and Switzerland as a manufacturing base. By 2033, we will have implemented numerous reconstruction projects to make the manufacturing location fit for the future, helping to establish a new, pioneering district on the vacant site. The first signs can already be seen: the new Mistral production facility went into operation at the end of 2016, and the first part of the new Zephyr Hangar was completed and commissioned at the end of 2019.

In 2020, we intend to merge the future with the past. When developing and manufacturing pioneering innovations, we are turning to our roots: quality, precise craftsmanship, functional design, sustainability and the best service remain the focus of our efforts.
